When you want to listen to your favorite music or use your phone, you will want to make sure that your AirPods are charged. When you charge the AirPods, you will charge the case with the AirPods inside (assuming that your AirPods are not fake!). The case will then hold the charge so that you can use it to charge your AirPods when they run low on power. You can look at the indicator light inside the case to know how much battery you have remaining. However, it will not give you a specific battery amount; a green light means that your case is fully charged, while an orange or amber light means that it is less than fully charged.

Check with Your iPhone or iPad

If you have already paired your AirPods with your iPhone or your iPad, then it is pretty easy to check if they are charging. You can open the case with the AirPods inside, and make sure that you are near your iPhone or iPad. When you open the case, the charge status of the AirPods will show up on the screen of your device. It will display both the AirPods and the case, and it will tell you the percentage of each. If the AirPods are charging, you will see the little lightning bolt next to the battery symbol.

When you do this, it will show you the charge status rounded down to the AirPod with the lower charge. If you remove one of the AirPods, you will be able to see the individual AirPods and how much each one is charged. If you are not using your AirPods and simply want to know if they are charging, this is a great method.

You can also ask Siri to find out if your AirPods are charging. You simply say, “Hey Siri, how’s the battery life of my AirPods?” When you ask this question, the virtual assistant will show you on your iPhone or iPad. She will show you the percentage of the case as well as each of your AirPods.

Check on Your Mac

If you want to check the charging status of your AirPods on your Mac, you can remove them from the charging case. Look up at the menu bar and select the Bluetooth icon. Now you can click on Connect to connect your AirPods. You can click on the Bluetooth icon a second time once they are connected, and hover over your AirPods in the menu. A drop down menu will appear to show you the battery percentage of each of your AirPods and the Charging case.

Use Your Apple Watch

Another way to check whether your AirPods are charging is to check on your watch. As you might realize, any Apple product can tell you this answer as long as you connect the AirPods to the device. Take your watch and press the Crown. You need to go to the Control Center of the Apple Watch.

If you tap on the battery icon, it will tell you the battery life of your watch, but it will also tell you whether your AirPods are charging if you scroll down. If you want to know how much battery each AirPod has remaining, you can stick one AirPod in the case, and it will switch to tell you how much battery each one has left.

When you are heading out for a commute or a road trip, you will want to know when your AirPods are charging. You may need your AirPods for an important call, or you might be planning to listen to a podcast or music. As long as you have your Apple devices paired to the AirPods, you will have no trouble finding out.

When you check on your Apple Watch, your iPhone, your iPad, or your Mac, you can find out whether the AirPods are charging, how much battery they have left, and how much battery is remaining in the case.
