Snapchat is one of the most interesting ways to send messages to friends. If you notice that you aren’t able to communicate with some of your Snapchat friends, they may have deleted you. Here’s how to find out if they really did.

Check your friends list

Open up your Snapchat app and go to your friends list. Scroll down until you find the friend in question and click on his or her name. This should bring up his or her username and Snapchat score, which appears as a number next to the username. If you can’t see it, there is a possibility that they deleted you on Snapchat.

Keep in mind that some users prefer to use special privacy settings that hide their Snapchat score from others.

Send a snap to him or her

The best way to know for sure if he or she deleted you is to try sending him or her a message on Snapchat. Send the image to your friend and then go back to your friends list. You should see a red arrow next to his or her name, indicating that you’ve sent them a Snap. Try refreshing the friends list page to see if the red arrow turns into a gray “pending” arrow. If the arrow remains gray, then this means that the Snap didn’t send because your friend deleted you. However, if the arrow stays red, it means that you’re still friends on Snapchat.

Is deleting on Snapchat the same as blocking?

Deleting people on Snapchat isn’t exactly the same as blocking them. If your friend had blocked you, then his or her name would not show up in your Snapchat friends list. In addition, you wouldn’t be able to search for him or her on Snapchat to send a friend request.

If a friend just deleted you off of his or her own friends list, you will still have his or her username on your friends list. This means that you will still be able to view his or her profile. When someone blocks you, you can no longer see his or her username or profile on your friends list.
